Halo

Informed by a commonality seen in creation stories from around the world to explain life’s origins my Heads series draws upon an array of imagery from Christian iconography to pre-history cave painting. The black stoneware heads are Creator beings which have eyes to see and observe but are silent and without words or mouth from which to speak. They take inspiration from the creation stories of the Australian Indigenous people and their concept that ‘all life as it is today is part of one vast unchanging network of relationships’.
